The story of my life in China is here.

On Drugs

The Ibuprofen works wonders. For the first time in two weeks I can walk somewhat normal.

Small Noodles

Small Noodles

I’ve heard that these noodles should be better than the larger ones but couldn’t tell the noodle man to make me some. Today he was cooking them for a woman so I had the chance to also try some. They are good.

600 Mg

Now that my left foot got better the right one started to hurt. How can that be? I’ve been in perfect condition when I left Germany and since then I’ve been struggling with one disease after the other. My German doctor confirmed the diagnosis of the hospital and told me to take 600 mg Ibuprofen twice a day to get rid of the inflammation. That has to help.

First day without coat. Yesterday was also very warm but you still needed one inside.

I Bought a Bike

Bike

The bike was 359 Yuan (about 33 Euro), the lock 99,90 Yuan. I hope it won’t be stolen. My landlady even thinks it’s dangerous to put it in the corridor on 14th floor. I mean, it’s just our apartment and another one. And I have the lock. If it’s been stolen here then it won’t survive a single week in the city. Let’s hope the best.

No one tried to find a ladder or someone to help the poor kitten. Perhaps they were too busy to get back to all their Hello Kitty stuff… Our Chinese wasn’t good enough to plan a rescue mission.

We didn’t need admission, passport or any other document. Everyone could have picked a Chinese name from the list, gotten a picture taken and he’d have a nice Tongji student ID like mine within minutes:

Cafeteria

I seem to eat the same things every day. Rice and something green. This time there was just a small piece of meat in it, a fruit fly.

Cafeteria

A classmate chose tofu and egg.

The problem: The egg contained a larger quantity of meat which ended up here, together with all the other unappetizing things that have been lying on our table:

What Is It?

We walked past a broken vending machine when a friend asked his Chinese friend what’s been in there. She said it’s something you can get everywhere. You don’t have to pay for it. It’s only for older people, not young ones or students. It can also be found at Tongji.

The first one that posts the right answer will get a postcard.

Hint: I just repeat what she said.
